It is really really cool. All the things published so far are static modules. And, they are working on motors ! Looking forward to … By the way, they use customized python script to design these things. The talk was given by William Shih, a professor in Harvard Medical School. A mixture of good and bad in Clare Curran’s blog on productivity: We have a productivity taskforce set up by the National Government and led by the ignominious Don Brash. It’s likely to come up with an argument for economic growth which is about selling our state assets and keeping wages down, or cutting jobs to create more profits. Because that’s what the conservative side of politics believes productivity to be. Gordon Campbell’s piece on this a couple of months ago is worth reading.

In The Mythology of Intellectual Property , I mentioned that “The Product of the Intellect Isn’t Property” and pointed out that, consequently: Even the law doesn’t recognize copyright as “property”. If you violate copyright laws, it is not called “theft”; it is called “copyright infringement”. There’s always someone willing to argue the point, though, no matter how wrong the person might be. I guess not everyone in the world has read my comments on the subject yet.

Google wants to enable Google applications to run as well as possible as many places as possible. Here is how: Google applications: Web applications run in browsers, on all kinds of systems. No need to be installed or updated, and hard to block. Anyone with IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, or, of course, Chrome has access to all the latest applications. Gears: Web applications run in a sandbox and don’t have much access to your system. Gears enables more access.

Cropping refers to the removal of the outer parts of an image to improve framing, accentuate subject matter or change aspect ratio. Depending on the application, this may be performed on a physical photograph, artwork or film footage, or achieved digitally using image editing software. The term is common to the film, broadcasting, photographic, graphic design and printing industries. In the printing, graphic design and photography industries, cropping refers to removing unwanted areas from a photographic or illustrated image.
