Recently, I had the chance to use Lotte to translate and, it simply blows me away. The Transifex crew deserve some well earned applause for including elements that make it incredibly helpful for those involved in the work of translations. There is a slight annoyance which has now been turned into a ticket . Read off Planet Sugar that “several weeks ago”, activities.sugarlabs.org has exceeded 1 million downloads of activities. I was fortunate to be going through university in the early ’90s right when Linux was making the rounds – Math and Engineering, Control and Communications Systems program at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.

Andy Updegrove has written an open letter to US president Obama, urging support for Free/Open Source Software. “It’s time for the Obama Administration to publicly state that it whole heartedly supports FOSS procurement by the federal agencies. Not in preference to proprietary software, but on an equal basis. Only by doing so can it ensure that when it comes to getting the best deal for the American public, the best software will win.”
