Domains and Increasing their Value
February 21st, 2012 by admin | Comments Off | Filed in GoDaddyWith the availability of short domains in little supply (there are actually no available 4 page or less .coms), the worth of these are increasing quickly. These short domains are the only ones that some people believe are really valuable but that is not true. What about the Google domain name? If you had it Google may have bought it from you. However it was not popular at the time which shows you that you can choose any domain name and with the proper branding thereby increase it’s value. You can try a godaddy coupon to get your own of any length.
For the following reason, brandable domains are good to create for monetary purposes. Unless you purchase a short domain you will need to brand it. I personally don’t mess with short domains as they are hard to find and expensive. I would stick with just buying generic names to build a website and brand to create your own value.
Some choose to monetize their domains with a parking service. If the name is a word or phrase that is searched alot you can make money from a parked page. Here is how it works. A company puts ads on a page and your domain points to it. The money made from those advertisements is then paid to you, minus their commission. You literally do nothing but collect your check.
